AMEWS Association for Middle East Women's Studies

The editorial team of the Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies (JMEWS) invites
manuscript submissions for the 2024 JMEWS Graduate Student Paper Prize. The prize
is awarded to a graduate student in any discipline in the humanities or interpretive social
sciences to recognize an original work on an aspect of Middle East women’s, gender,
and/or sexuality studies.

Current graduate students are invited to submit polished manuscripts written in English.
Manuscripts should run 7,500-10,000 words and conform to JMEWS submission
guidelines. They are expected to be in MS Word and must include a cover page listing
the manuscript title, full author name, academic institution, program of study, and a 150-
word abstract.

The submission deadline for the 2024 Graduate Student Paper Prize is May 31, 2024.
Manuscripts may be sent any time before this date to the JMEWS Managing Editor at
[email protected] with the subject line: “Graduate Student Paper Prize.”

The winner will be announced during the annual meeting of the Middle East Studies
Association in November 2024. The 2024 prize winner will receive a $500 award and
comments to prepare the manuscript for publication as an article in JMEWS.
